I can’t say enough good things about Kandoo Adventures and the amazing crew of guides and porters who made my recent climb of Kilimanjaro a reality!

Our guides, Andrew, Wendelin, and Kotlibu, were super professional and had a wealth of knowledge. As we made our way up the mountain, they kept a watchful eye on everyone in our group and made sure we were going at a nice, slow pace. They shared stories about local flora, fauna, history, and life in the region. The entire team on the mountain went above and beyond to help us out and ensure the trip was as enjoyable as it could be for everyone - from daily briefings and health checks to whipping up delicious meals, providing first aid, fixing broken trekking poles, and even cleaning off our boots when we got to camp. They truly are a fantastic group of folks, and I’m really grateful for their help!

After this experience, Kandoo Adventures will absolutely be my go-to for my next journey!

Our journey up Kilimanjaro with Kandoo Adventures was truly unforgettable. The guides were not just professional but also incredibly caring, and the cook along with the porters were fantastic — the whole crew went the extra mile to make sure we felt at ease and secure throughout the trip (and all 10 of us made it to the top!).

The fun factor was off the charts, thanks to the upbeat and energetic vibe from the Kandoo team.

**Guides:**

The guides were top-notch, super professional, and a blast to be around.

Our lead guide, Andrew, was exceptional. From the moment we met him, he ensured we felt at home and ready for this epic adventure. Our group had folks who spoke both English and French, and Andrew communicated brilliantly in both languages — he always made sure everyone was on the same page about what to expect.

Every evening, Andrew checked in on our health and prepped us for the next day. He covered what we should expect, how to pack, and what to wear. He was incredibly patient with our questions and went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed for a successful climb.

It was clear that our well-being was the top priority throughout the trip, and Andrew kept track of how each of us was feeling day by day.

Our assistant guides — Kotilib, James, and Invocavithey — were also dedicated to our safety, comfort, and enjoyment. They were always a few steps ahead, ready to support us. They kept our spirits high on the toughest days and answered all our questions along the way.

**Cook & Food:**

I was blown away by how well we ate on the mountain. Our cook, David, was incredibly skilled, and the effort he put into every meal was truly appreciated. He planned meals that were exciting to eat (even when our appetites were low) — from oatmeal and crepes for breakfast to pizza, French fries, fried chicken, pasta, and stews for lunch and dinner, we were definitely well-fed! He even made us a traditional dish — Ugali — and baked a cake after our summit.

Our waiter, Eric, was always one step ahead, ensuring we had everything we needed.

**Porters:**

The porters were incredibly strong and capable, so we never worried about our gear making it to the next camp. They greeted us with songs and dances after our tough days, provided filtered water every morning, cleaned our shoes after each trek, and were always in high spirits.

Kandoo partners with KPAP, so it was reassuring to know the porters were treated fairly and with respect.

**Accommodation:**

After each hike, when we arrived at camp, our tents, the always clean washroom, and our dining area were all set up for us. There were hot drinks and snacks waiting after we freshened up and settled in for the night. Innocent took great care of the washroom, while Ewald and the tent crew were always attentive to our needs. If it started to rain or get windy, the team made sure our belongings were safe.

What an incredible journey with Kandoo Adventures! My partner and I tackled the northern circuit route on Kilimanjaro. It wasn’t the cheapest or the fastest option, but we opted for an extra day to boost our chances of hitting the summit. Everything was really well organized. Our main guide, Andrew, was fantastic - laid-back yet super organized behind the scenes. He took the medical checks seriously, doing them twice daily, but he also knew when to just offer reassurance and motivation. The assistant guides, Wendelin and Kotlibu, were super friendly and supportive. The food was surprisingly good, especially considering it was cooked up a mountain - big shoutout to Richard! The porters were all really nice whenever they passed us (which was often and quick!). Every one of the seven in our group made it to the top, and we all agreed we’d definitely choose Kandoo again in the future. Thanks for an awesome adventure!

I usually don’t write reviews, but Kandoo and their crew truly deserve this shoutout for the incredible Safari and Kilimanjaro trek I just wrapped up. A huge thanks to Shelley and Euan for handling all the travel arrangements. It’s so nice to have someone pick up the phone quickly and sort out any concerns you might have. On the Tanzanian side, the service was top-notch, from the quick airport pickup to the fantastic lodging. And of course, I gotta save the best for last. A massive shoutout to the awesome guides and porters on this journey. That’s Tony, my Safari guide and driver, along with Kilimanjaro guides Andrew, Wendolin, and Cotie. Seriously, I wouldn’t have made it to the summit without you all. Thanks a ton! This has definitely been one of the best trips I’ve ever taken, and I’ve got plenty of adventures under my belt. Cheers to Kandoo! Now, I’m off to Zanzibar for a cold beer or two! 🍻🍻😀😀

From the very first day to the last, it was a fantastic experience with the Kandoo Adventures crew. We appreciated how professional the team was, providing thorough briefings and health check-ups each morning and evening, along with invaluable tips throughout our Kilimanjaro journey. What a great company for our trek up Kilimanjaro! Everything was top-notch. The guides knew their stuff and were super attentive, while the porters were really friendly and went above and beyond to keep us comfy. The food was just fantastic. If you're thinking about climbing Kilimanjaro, I truly can't recommend Kandoo highly enough. I'll definitely be using them again for future adventures!

I just got back from Kandoo's Peaks of Patagonia journey - it was simply incredible! This marks my third adventure with Kandoo, and every single one has been top-notch in terms of service, support, and planning - all you need to do is arrive at the airport, and they handle the rest. The itinerary was fantastic, taking us through both the Fitz Roy region in Argentina and the Torres del Paine area in Chile. The views were absolutely stunning! The accommodations and campsites were well arranged, the meals were more than enough, and connecting with fellow hikers was a great perk. The hikes were challenging, but totally manageable if you're in decent shape. I highly suggest this trip for an unforgettable experience.

We just got back from our 8-day trek on the Lemosho route of Kilimanjaro, led by the amazing Richard and his assistant Esto. Honestly, we couldn't be more thrilled with our choice to go with Kandoo. From the very beginning, the service was super friendly and full of helpful info. The crew in the UK, along with Emanuel when we arrived, and the whole team on the mountain—Richard, Esto, Walter, Juvenile, David, Zakayo, and Antony (Tony B)—were all fantastic. They really went the extra mile for us, making us feel like we were part of a big family throughout the climb. Richard and Esto are such valuable members of Kandoo, and I really hope we can join them for another adventure down the line. Our porters were just incredible; without their hard work, we wouldn't have made it to the top. They brought joy to each day, and their dedication is truly inspiring. Big thanks to the entire team! It's all thanks to you that we reached the summit. Forever grateful.

The trek my sister and I took over 8 days to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro was unforgettable and truly one of the best experiences we've had. This was all thanks to our fantastic guides Andrew, Esto, Tuma, Thadeus, and Ewald, along with our supportive group, the cooks, and of course, the incredible porters who made it possible for us to reach the top. They always found a way to bring laughter and smiles, no matter what we faced. Big shoutout to Kandoo for bringing together such an amazing team!

This journey was unforgettable thanks to our guides. Ismail and Mohammed are just fantastic!!! Ismail is a genuinely good, down-to-earth guy. He shared a ton of info about Morocco, its rich history, and its diverse people. He opened up about his life and his hometown, making us feel completely at ease. Mohammed accompanied us on the trek up Mount Toubkal. He was incredible, taking great care of us and giving us plenty of encouragement. Without their support, we wouldn't have made it to the top. Mount Toubkal offers an experience like no other . . . The views are simply breathtaking :-)

The folks at Kandoo, during both the planning and the actual trip, really went above and beyond to meet our specific requests, which were quite a few and truly valued! We were among the initial groups to explore Oman, and our local guide was absolutely fantastic! Big shoutout to our Kandoo coordinator for making it all happen.

The crew and guides at Kilimanjaro are truly remarkable. Just incredible folks. Andrew and Ewald (the guides) really stood out for me as they pushed me to reach the summit, even when I was doubting myself. I reckon Kandoo Adventures could do a bit more for the local team that assists climbers - like providing clothing and equipment for the porters and such. They’re the real treasure, and I’d come back just for the genuinely wonderful people I met during my trek.

This was my second journey with Kandoo, and it sure lived up to my expectations. Our guide, Jose Quispe, was fantastic—super knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The porters were great too; they would cheer when we rolled into the campground. The Inca trail itself was breathtaking. We spotted some wild llamas, which turned out to be one of my favorite moments. If you're planning to hike the Inca, I’d suggest you include Rainbow Mountain in your itinerary.

The support team was top-notch and they responded to all my inquiries quickly. The gear was solid and the food was really good.

My only issue is they claimed to offer a trip that was ethically sound with a 'no trace left behind' policy, and part of the Kili porter initiative with well-cared-for porters, but I didn’t see any proof of that. There was no attempt to pick up trash, they were handing out candy wrappers that ended up all over the trail, and the porters were dressed in worn-out secondhand clothes and old shoes. The guide was just alright, spoke limited English, and walked way too fast. We looked like every other group out there, except for the guides who wore 'Kandoo' shirts. Honestly, I bet you'd have the same experience with any other tour company. What you're really paying for is the customer service, nice accommodations, and the marketing hype, not anything unique on the trail.

Our incredible journey in Peru was something else! We happened to be there right when the protests kicked off. The Kandoo crew did a fantastic job keeping us safe, updated, and away from any trouble. They were just great at passing along all the info we needed.

Plus, the scenery was simply stunning throughout the trip, and the guides were super friendly and helpful!! I’m already looking forward to planning our next adventure.
